Dayna Villa lives in West Norriton with her husband, Chris, and their rescued deaf boxer, Charlotte. Dayna is a dog trainer and Chris is a home inspector with Armored Home Inspections. Chris is an avid disc golf player and is one of the best in the tri-state region. Favorite hobbies of Dayna and Chris include traveling and fostering dogs. Dayna fosters animals to save them from euthanasia. Over the past 15 years, she has fostered hundreds of cats and dogs in her home.
Dayna started her dog training career by volunteering with local shelters and rescue groups. She later worked full time as Director of Operations at a shelter, overseeing many facets, including intake, adoptions and behavior and training services. Dayna has been a Certified Professional Dog Trainer since 2010. She earned her Behavior Consulting Certification in 2021 and her Whistle Recall Instructor Certification in 2022. In March 2021, Dayna made Taking the Lead Dog Training her full time work. She is also an emergency responder on the Animal Rescue Team with the Humane Society of the United States.
In addition, Dayna volunteers on the Board of Directors of the Conservation Dogs Collective. The organization uses dogs to protect the Earth by sniffing out invasive species, endangered species, and elusive species. Back to Earth supports this wonderful organization, which Dayna greatly appreciates. To learn more visit www.conservationdogscollective.org.
Dayna and Chris do what they can to reduce their carbon footprint. They recycle and are careful to know the rules around recyclable items in their township. They also buy products that aren’t tested on animals and always ask for no straws for drinks and no plastic bags for leftovers when dining out. Dayna shares “It’s easy to find biodegradable and/or compostable items if you take some time to look. Bamboo toothbrushes and floss, laundry detergent sheets and bar soap instead of gels in plastic containers are just a few ways to help Mother Nature thrive.”
Back to Earth Compost Crew is Dayna’s first composting experience. She’s been composting since 2020 and thinks that composting is an easy way to make a huge impact to make our planet healthier. When asked for a favorite thing about Back to Earth Compost Crew, Dayna responded “Everything! The staff, the affordability, the reliability, and the free compost twice a year. What’s not to love?!”
