Janine and Dean Weaver thought they were new to composting when they joined the Back to Earth Compost Crew family in May—but they had actually already been composting for over 20 years! Running their family-owned landscaping company, the Weaver's worked side by side for decades. Without thinking of it as composting and more like common-sense recycling, they take their debris (all plant material, soil, mulch, etc.) to a dump where it is recycled into mulch.

While Janine and Dean worked together for many years in landscaping, Janine made a career change and started her own planter business in February of 2020. Replenish Planters allows Janine to work on the aspect she was most passionate about in the landscaping business. Replenish Planters is a four-season container gardening service that designs new, fresh arrangements each season and delivers them right to the customer’s door (or patio or front porch or yard!).

While many businesses struggled in the spring of 2020, Replenish Planters thrived!  When people were confined to their homes, they wanted to make their spaces—especially outdoor spaces—prettier. Over the past year, the company has continued to grow. Replenish Planters prides itself on giving back and donates a portion of their proceeds to two organizations close to Janine’s heart: Chariots of Hope and Grounds for Restoration.

The Weaver's live in Ambler and have two teenage sons. Ethan, 17, keeps busy with his mountain biking team and Ryan, 14, plays soccer. As a family, the Weavers like to bike and run.

Like many Back to Earth composters, Janine’s favorite thing about composting is Colleen! The Weaver's appreciate Colleen’s support of local small businesses and enjoy supporting her. They have been pleased with the convenience and ease of composting their food scraps with Back to Earth Compost Crew.
